Vicia sativa var. ecirrhosa J. Q. He.

Leaflets oblong-cuneate to obcordate, apex truncate or emarginate. Calyx: teeth equaling or longer than tube. Corolla 18-30 mm. Legume brown or yellow-brown, contracted be­tween seeds, 35-70 × 6-11 mm, usually hairy. Fl. Jan-Aug, fr. Feb-Sep. 2n = 10, 12.

Cultivated and possibly naturalized, forests, hedges, hill slopes, grasslands, dry pastures, creek banks, farms, orchards, fields, cultivated land, margins of cultivation, wastelands, roadsides; sea level to 3000 m. Anhui, Chongqing, Fujian, Gansu, Guangdong, Guizhou, Hebei, Hei­longjiang, Hubei, Jiangsu, Nei Mongol, Sichuan, Taiwan, Xinjiang, Yun­nan, Zhejiang [exact native distribution uncertain; widely cultivated and naturalized].
