Herbs ± stemless or stems scapelike. Leaves mostly basal, persistent, often pinnatisect. Stem leaves alternate or pseudo-opposite. Inflorescences capitate or short racemose. Calyx lobes 2--5. Corolla more than 3 cm; tube usually not exceeding calyx; beak wide; lower lip often enveloping galea.
Four species: Bhutan, China, N Myanmar, Nepal, Sikkim; all four in China.
