Carpels and follicles wholly pubescent.
Spiraea alaschanica Y. Z. Zhao & T. J. Wang (Bull. Bot. Res., Harbin 20: 362. 2000), described from Ningxia, is related to S. blumei. Further study is necessary to determine its identity.
Slopes. Henan, Shaanxi, Zhejiang.
