Trees, to 10 m tall, d.b.h. to 30 cm. Branchlets gray when dry, terete, grooved. Petiole ca. 3 mm; leaf blade broadly elliptic to obovate, 2.5-6.5 × 1.5-3.5 cm, leathery, abaxially pale when dry, adaxially yellowish brown when dry, abaxially with numerous glands, adaxially with numerous minute appressed glands, secondary veins 9-13 on each side of midvein, 2-3 mm apart, slowly ascending, and inconspicuous on both surfaces or abaxially visible, intramarginal veins essentially at margin, base cuneate, apex obtuse to abruptly mucronate and with a ca. 8 mm cusp. Inflorescences terminal, paniculate cymes, ca. 1.5 cm; peduncle ca. 1 cm. Flower buds obovoid, 2.5-3 mm. Hypanthium ca. 2.5 mm, slightly ridged, apex shallowly wavy or flattened truncate. Stamens 2-3 mm; anthers very small. Fruit black, subglobose, ca. 1.6 × 1.8 cm. Fl. Jun-Sep, fr. Nov-Mar.
