Herbs perennial. Leaves forming a rosette; petiole slightly differentiated or to 1/4 as long as leaf blade; leaf blade elliptic to oblong or obovate-oblong, 4.5--15(--20) X 2--5(--8) cm, base cuneate-attenuate, margin obscurely sinuate-lobulate, irregularly denticulate, apex rounded. Scapes 15--20 cm, elongating to 80 cm in fruit, scarcely farinose at nodes; umbels (1 or)2--5, superimposed, 3--12-flowered; bracts triangular to lanceolate, 1.5--3.5(--5) mm, scarcely farinose. Pedicel 0.8--1.5 cm, elongating to 2.8 cm in fruit. Flowers mostly homostylous, rarely heterostylous. Calyx campanulate, 3.5--4.5 mm, copiously yellow farinose inside, efarinose or scarcely farinose outside, parted to 1/3 or slightly below; lobes triangular, apex acute. Corolla pale-orange; tube 1.1--1.2 cm; limb 1.5--2 cm wide; lobes obovate, slightly emarginate. Stamens ca. 9 mm above base of corolla tube. Style slightly longer than anthers. Capsule ovoid, slightly longer than calyx. Fl. May-Jun. 2n = 22@.
