Description from Flora of China
Young branchlets glabrescent. Peduncle of male inflorescences,
pedicels, corolla limbs inside, and abaxial surface of bracts
dirty yellow puberulous. Male inflorescences cymose, 3-flowered.
Male flower calyx 4-parted, smaller than female calyx, brown strigose;
corolla urnlike-tubular, 6 mm, outside densely yellowish brown
puberulous; stamens 16; rudimentary ovary densely rusty bearded
at apex. Fruiting peduncle 5--8(--12) mm, with subapical bract
scars; pedicel 3--4 mm, sometimes recurved, bracteate near base;
bracts linear, 3--4.5 mm. Infructescences 1-fruited. Fl. Mar-Apr.
