Shrubs ca. 2 m tall. Branchlets shiny, striate, pilose and glandular when young, glabrescent. Petiole 3-6 cm, glabrous; leaf blade green, broadly elliptic to ovate, 6-12 X 6-8 cm, membranous, adaxially glabrous or puberulent only along veins, white glandular, base rounded and slightly oblique, margin serrate, apex acuminate to rarely caudate; veins 5 or 6 pairs, abaxially elevated. Inflorescences 2.5-3 X 3-3.5 cm, sparsely pubescent, densely white glandular; peduncle 1-1.5 cm; bracts linear, ca. 2 mm. Calyx 5-dentate, densely white glandular, sparsely puberulent to subglabrous. Corolla greenish white, outside pubescent, inside glabrous except for a ring of hairs at throat; lobes 4, rounded. Anthers purple-brown, subrounded. Fruit oblong, glabrous. Fl. May.
