Ligustrum rugosulum W. W. Smith, Notes Roy. Bot. Gard. Edinburgh 10: 44. 1917; L. robustum (Roxburgh) Blume var. chayuense P. Y. Bai.
Leaf blade ovate-lanceolate to elliptic, 4-13 × 2-5.5 cm; veins obviously impressed adaxially. Panicles terminal, leafy at base. Calyx glabrous. Fl. Apr-Jun, fr. Sep-Dec.
Valleys, along rivers, woods, thickets; 400-2000 m. SE Xizang, Yunnan [Vietnam].
