Description from Flora of China
Twigs glabrous; bud-scales glabrous or hairy only towards margin. Leaf blade often somewhat obovate, margin denticulate, apical acumen ca. 1.5 cm, reticulate veins very coarse and abaxially slightly prominent. Fl. Feb-May, fr. Jun-Sep.
* Mixed forests; 1000--2000 m. S Sichuan, Yunnan.
