Plants annual, 4--9 cm tall. Stems thin. Cataphylls few. Basal and cauline leaves 1--4. Basal leaf blade linear, short. Cauline leaves often 2; proximal leaf with sheath auricles well developed; leaf blade linear, 4--5.5 cm, apex acuminate; distal leaf 1--2 cm including sheath with auricles inconspicuous. Inflorescences terminal, 1(or 2)-flowered. Bracteoles 2, ovate, 2--2.5 mm. Perianth segments whitish, ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate, 2.5--3 × 1--1.2 mm, unequal with outer ones slightly shorter than inner, margin hyaline. Stamens 6, subequaling inner perianth segments; filaments 2.1--2.4 mm; anthers 0.8--0.9 mm. Ovary ca. 2 mm. Style ca. 1 mm; stigmas short, branches inconspicuous. Capsule brown, trigonous oblong, ca. 3 mm, 1-loculed, apex mucronate. Seeds 0.5--0.6 mm; appendages 0.4--0.5 mm. Fl. Jul, fr. Aug.
