Plants perennial, tufted, 4--5 cm tall. Rhizome short. Stems ca. 0.5 mm in diam., striate. Cataphylls chestnut brown. Leaf 1; leaf sheath auricles absent; leaf blade linear-lanceolate, 1--3 cm × ca. 2 mm, apex obtuse. Inflorescences terminal; head solitary, 5--7 mm in diam., 2-flowered; bracts 1 or 2, chestnut brown; basal bract leaflike, lanceolate, 0.7--1.2 cm, longer than head. Perianth segments lanceolate, 3--4 mm, unequal with inner ones longer than outer, margin blackish chestnut brown, apex obtuse, membranous. Stamens 6, subequaling perianth; filaments 3--4 mm; anthers sulfur yellow, ca. 1 mm. Capsule blackish chestnut brown, trigonous ovoid, distinctly longer than perianth, imperfectly 3-septate, apex mucronate. Seeds whitish, sawdustlike, 1--1.2 mm. Fl. Jul--Aug, fr. Aug--Sep.

* Trail sides on limestone slopes; 4000--4300 m. Xizang, Yunnan.
