Melandrium bilinguum (W. W. Smith) Pax & K. Hoffmann.

Herbs perennial. Roots clustered, spiniform. Stems diffuse, supine, ca. 8 cm, slender, multibranched, basally sparsely pubescent, apically glandular hairy. Leaves linear, 2--3(--6) cm × 1--2(--3) mm, both surfaces subglabrous, margin ciliate, midvein prominent, apex acute. Dichasial cymes multiflowered. Pedicel 1--2.5 cm, glandular hairy; bracts narrowly lanceolate, 5--10 mm, glandular hairy. Calyx campanulate, (8--)10--12 × ca. 3 mm, densely glandular hairy, base rounded, longitudinal veins violet; calyx teeth triangular, apex obtuse. Androgynophore ca. 2 mm, glabrous. Petals pale red, ca. 1.5 cm; claws included in calyx, oblanceolate, glabrous, auricles spreading to flabellate, margin erose; limbs obovate, bifid; lobes ligulate, ca. 3.5 mm, 1-toothed on each lateral side; coronal scales subsquarrose, small, margin entire or emarginate. Stamens exserted beyond calyx; filaments glabrous. Styles exserted. Capsule ovoid, ca. 8(--10) mm, shorter than calyx. Seeds dark brown, reniform, ca. 1 mm. Fl. Jun--Aug, fr. Jul--Sep.
