Sect. Leuce Duby.
Bark usually grayish white, smooth, only becoming rough on old trunks. Buds tomentose or glabrous. Leaves with petioles flattened or subterete; leaf blade lobed, incised, or with sinuous teeth, abaxially tomentose or glabrous. Bracts laciniate, long ciliate. Disc sinuate. Stamens 5-12(-20). Stigma 2-4-lobed. Capsule long ellipsoid or long ovoid, usually 2-valved.
