斯氏凤尾藓

Leafy stems 2.8–11.0 mm long, 1.1–1.7 mm wide; central strand not differentiated; axillary hyaline nodules lacking. Leaves in 5–24 pairs, oblong-lanceolate, 0.8–1.0 mm × 0.2–0.3 mm, acute at apex; base of dorsal laminae wedge-shaped, often slightly decurrent; costa usually percurrent, rarely ending a few cells below apex; vaginant laminae 1/2 –2/3 the leaf length, equal; margins entire; limbidia weak, 1 cell thick, usually 1–2 cells wide, usually lacking on the distal part of apical laminae and the proximal part of dorsal laminae, 2–3 cells wide on upper half of vaginant laminae, but not well differentiated on lower half of vaginant laminae; cells of apical and dorsal laminae quadrate to hexagonal, 4–7 µm long, mammillose, thin-walled, obscure; cells of vaginant laminae similar to those of apical and dorsal laminae, but larger and longer, with clear cell walls. Dioicous. Archegonia terminal on stems, 370–400 µm long. Perichaetial leaves somewhat longer than stems leaves, but otherwise undifferentiated.

Habitat: on soil; Distribution: China, Japan, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, the Philippines, and New Guinea.

This variety is characterized by having dioicous sexuality and small, mammillose cells of the apical laminae (only 4–7 µm long).
