Plants large, 5–10 cm high, slender to fairly robust, bright green or yellowish green above, dull green below, weakly shiny, in loose or dense tufts. Stems erect, or ascending, simple or branched, radiculose only at base. Leaves erect or flexuose-crispate when dry, falcate-secund or curved when moist, abruptly narrowed from a broadly ovate, clasping base to a long, canaliculate, setaceous acumen; margins plane below, incurved above, nearly entire throughout, or rarely minutely serrulate at the extreme apex; costa slender, occupying ca. 1/6 – 1/5 the leaf base width, subpercurrent to shortly excurrent, smooth or weakly papillose at back above; upper leaf cells rounded quadrate to irregularly short-rectangular, 2–3 times as long as broad, thick-walled, smooth; basal cells elongate, rectangular, thick-walled, porose, highly sinuous, becoming linear in 2–3 rows at the margins; alar cells quadrate to short-rectangular, thick-walled, somewhat inflated, 2–3(–4) stratose, yellowish brown at the margins, hyaline within. Dioicous. Male plants dwarfed. Perichaetial leaves highly convolute-sheathing at base, abruptly narrowed to a slender, entire subula. Setae 1–2, straight, 3.0–3.5 cm long, reddish brown; capsules erect, cylindric, symmetric, deeply reddish brown; opercula long conic-rostrate; peristome teeth absent. Calyptrae cucullate, yellowish. Spores not seen.

Type. China: Xizang, Cuo-na Co., KUN Ecol. Dept. Xizang Team 744 (holotype IFSBH).

Habitat: on soil in bushlands or humic soil in alpine shrubbery; Distribution: endemic to China.
