2. Didymodon anserinocapitatus (X.-J. Li) Zand., Bull. Buffalo Soc. Nat. Sci. 32:162. 1993; Barbula anserinocapitata X.-J. Li, Acta Bot. Yunnan. 3: 103, f. 2: 1–9. 1981.

Plants slender, small, 10–18 mm high, dark green to yellowish brown, in loose tufts. Stems erect, simple or branched, densely foliated. Leaves contorted-curved when dry, erect-spreading when moist, broadly ovate-lanceolate at the base, linear slender and cyneous in the upper part, apically swollen as a propagulum, consisting of several layers of cells, usually fragile; margins entire, revolute in the lower part; costa stout, percurrent; upper leaf cells quadrate or irregularly hexagonal, smooth; basal cells enlarged, shortly rectangular, thin-walled, smooth. Setae erect, ca. 15 mm long; capsules cylindrical.

Type. China: Xizang, Long-zi Co., Jia-yu, M. Zang 962 (holotype HKAS).

Specimens examined: XIZANG: Lang Co., M. Zang 1704 (HKAS). Long-zi Co., Jia-yu, M. Zang 864 (HKAS); San-an-qu-lin, M. Zang 1382 (HKAS); Zhun-ba, M. Zang 1180 (HKAS).

Habitat: on rocks or thin soil over rocks in shade or river banks; Distribution: endemic to China.
