Martinsia  Godr. 
Annual, glabrous, glaucous herbs, erect, branched usually above. Cauline leaves cordate, amplexicaul, entire. Racemes panicled, ebracteate. Flowers small, yellow; pedicels spreading, about as long as fruits. Sepals open, hardly saccate at base. Petals about twice as long as the sepals, oblong, spathulate. Stamens 6; filaments linear. Lateral nectar glands annular; middle joining the laterals, thickened in the middle. Ovary oblong ovate with linear apex, 1-2 ovuled; stigma depressed-capitate. Siliculae ovate-tetragonal, crustaceous, unilocular, indehiscent; valves thick, usually with narrow, crimped, thickened wings; apex short, conical, style-like; seed 1, ovate, brown; radicle incumbent.
