Annuals. Leaf-blades flat. Inflorescence a spike or raceme or with a few simple racemose branches below. Spikelets 6-12-flowered; glumes unequal, ± keeled, acute to obuse densely tuberculate; palea almost as long as the lemma.
A monotypic genus in the Mediterranean region extending to Pakistan.
