Trees. Leaves bipinnate, stipulate. Inflorescence corymbose raceme at the end of branches. Flowers showy, white, orange or red. Bracts small, caducous. Calyx segments valvate, subequal. Petals 5, orbicular, imbricate, subequal or the upper most dissimilar. Stamens 10, free, declinate. Ovary sessile, ovules numerous, style filiform, stigma truncate. Fruit elongated, compressed, hard, 2-valved. Seeds transverse.
A genus with 3 species distributed in Africa, Madagascar and Asia.
