Annual or perennial herbs. Leaves usually simple. Flowers in radiant heads. Receptacular bracts herbaceous, small or absent. Calyx limb of 6-8 or many setae. Corolla 4-fid. Involucel 4-ribbed, limb with 2 or more teeth.
