Monoecious or dioecious trees with deciduous, imparipinnate, alternate leaves. Flowers in panicles, small. Calyx 4 (-5)- lobed, persistent. Petals 4(-5), imbricate in bud. Disk lobed. Stamens twice the number of petals. Ovary unilocular, ovoid, with a solitary pedulous ovule; styles (3-) 4, stout; stigma simple. Drupe small, compressed.
A genus of 7 species, mostly African. Represented in Pakistan by 1 species.
