Annual, small, tender herbs, branched mostly from the base, erect to spreading, glabrous rarely subhairy with simple, forked or glandular hairs. Leaves filiform, multifid to entire. Racemes few flowered, lax. Flowers mediocre, white or pinkish; pedicel short, thickened in fruit, spreading or ascending. Sepals erect, not saccate at base. Petals narrowly oblanceolate or linear, c. twice as long as the sepals. Stamens 6 (rarely inner 2 abortive) ; filaments not appendaged, inner 4 free to connate in pairs below; anthers short, narrow, acute, sometimes reduced or 1-celled. Nectar glands fragmentary, lateral cubical, middle marrow. Ovary oblong, many ovuled; stigma conical, bilobed, erect, sessile or subsessile. Siliquae linear, subcompressed, biolocular, tardily dehiscent or indehiscent; valves glabrous or slightly hairy, subcoriaceous, 1-veined; septum subfungosous, complete; seeds 1-2-seriate, many, oblong, not winged.

A monotypic genus in N. Africa, C. and W. Asia, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
