Longchampia Willd.
Annual to perennial herbs or undershrubs. Leaves simple, alternate, sessile, rarely opposite, entire, linear, mucronate, glandular hairy. Capitula radiate, heterogamous, solitary, terminal on long leafless peduncle; phyllaries many-seriate, ± unequal, imbricate. Ray florets yellow with purple band dorsally, female, corolla tube often with robust conical trichomes. Pappus of scales only, disc florets, tubular, bisexual, yellow, often with multicellular trichomes, 5-lobed. Anthers with truncate appendages. Cypselas rod-like, glabrous or with scattered twin hair; pappus dimorphic, inner of free, apically plumose setae, outer a row of obtuse scales.
