Perennial subshmbs. Stems di-trichotomously branched; branches terete. Leaves opposite, linear. Inflorescence spicate. Calyx accrescent after anthesis, tube scabridulous, lobes bifid. Corolla white, infundibuliform. Stamens inserted in the throat of the corolla-tube, 2 short. 2- or 3 long; anthers dorsifixed. Style deciduous, stigma included, bilobed. Fruits with erect wings.
A genus with only 3 species, distributed in N.E. Africa, Afghnistan, Pakistan and Iran. Represented in Pakistan by a single species.
