Scrambling or twining shrub or subshrubs with fleshy cylindrical stems and pendulous branches. Leaves absent or reduced to minute deciduous scales. Flowers in sessile umbellate clusters, terminal or solitary at nodes. Calyx 5-lobed, lobes ovate, acute. Corolla pale or yellowish green, rotate or subcampanulate, 5-lobed, lobes much longer than the basal united portion, slightly imbricate to the right, glabrous. Corona in 2 series, the outer short cupular, the inner of 5 segments attached to the staminal column. Staminal column arising from the corolla base. Connectives of anthers produced into membranous appendages. Pollinia pendent, 1 per locule, waxy, without pellucid margin. Follicles smooth. Seeds comose.
A genus with c. 10 species, distributed in tropical and sub-tropical regions of the world, represented in Pakistan by one species.
