Annual, erect, branched, glabrous, glaucous herbs. Leaves simple; cauline cordate, amplexicaul, entire. Racemes ebracteate, branched above, lax and elongated in fruit. Flowers small, yellow; pedicel filiform, shorter than siliculae, deflexed or spreading. Sepals not saccate at base. Petals about twice as long as the sepals, spathulate. Stamens 6; filaments linear; anthers very small, blunt. Lateral nectar glands apparently in pairs, semi-lunar, open towards the inner side, joined towards the outer side by an obscure, thin connection; middle ones present, joining the laterals by thin connections. Ovary somewhat ovate, 1-ovuled; stigma sessile, capitate. Siliculae cymbiform, membranous-crustaceous, unilocular, indehiscent, 1-seeded; valves narrowly winged with incurved wings, usually hairy with simple short hairs with somewhat hooked (upcurved) apices; beak-like apex pro¬minent, usually upcurved; seed 1, ovate, brown, ± flattened on one side; radicle incumbent.
A monotypic genus in Turcomania, C.& S.W. Asia, Himalayas and Pakistan.
