Dwarf annuals. Leaves simple, entire, subsessile or shortly petiolate. Verticillasters 2-flowered, axillary in upper leaf axils. Flowers shortly pedicellate. Calyx campanulate-tubular, 10-nerved, enlarged and pendent in fruit, shortly 5-toothed, indistinctly bilabiate, throat irregularly white-hispid. Corolla exserted beyond calyx teeth or not; tube slender, not annulate; upper lip straight; lower lip 3-lobed with a larger median lobe. Stamens 4, included in corolla tube, ± equal in length; thecae ± unilocular. Style shortly 2-lobed. Nutlets oblong, large.
2 species in SW Asia. A distinct annual genus with some affinities to Chamaesphacos Schrenk (not in our area).
