Perennial, basally much woody bifurcate hairy shrublets with virgate, ultimately leafless branches. Leaves alternate, pinnatisect. Capitula homogamous, usually discoid, on solitary long peduncles forming pesudocorymbs. Involucre ± copular, multi-seriate, outermost series of phyllaries smallest. Receptacle flat, glabrous. Florets bisexual, with tubular 5-lobed corolla, lobes deltoid ovate.Anthers without basal appendages, apically with lanceolate-ovoid appendages. Cypselas oblong, 5-6-ribbed, homomorphic, beset with sessile glands and myxogenic cells. Pappus an adaxial auricle or a corona of several adaxial scales.
A small genus of c. 9 species, distributed in Iran, Central Asia, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
