Stem annual. Leaves oblong-ovate, light grey, often simple. Axes of racemes corymbosely congested with abortive granular flowers, sessile on fleshy succulent white pedicels, often very fleshy and abbreviated, ± covered with a crown of leaves.
Type: Described from England.
The cauliflower, locally known as ‘Gobhi’ or ‘Phool gobhi’, is widely and abundantly cultivated as vegetable during winter, throughout Pakistan. Sometimes normal flowers develop with the abortive ones.
