Streptocaulon calophyllum Wight
Twining shrub, branches green when young, older purplish, juice milky. Leaves 5-12.5 x 0.5-1.8 cm, linear, lanceolate, acuminate, cuspidate, glossy above, paler beneath, margin undulate. Petiole usually 2.5 mm long. Flowers in small c. 13 cm long axillary cymes. Bract caducous. Calyx 5-partite, lobes 3.54 mm, ovate, blunt, hairy within. Corona of 5 filiform, hairy processes. Filaments glabrous, anthers hairy at the back. Follicles 12.5-20.0 cm x 3.54.0 mm, straight or slightly curved. Seed 13 cm long, coma 2.5-3.8 cm long.

Distribution: Kashmir, India (N. Punjab, Kumaon), Nepal, Sikkim, extending to China.
