Bambusa spinosa Roxb, ex Buch.-Ham.
Thorny Bamboo is native over much of India. It is absent from Pakistan and the Himalayas except in cultivation from the Ravi eastwards. The culms are strong and extensively used for building purposes. A single herbarium collection is known: Kashmir, Falconer 1245(K).
