Stems densely strigillose throughout. Petals 18-30 mm long. Style with long villous hairs near the base, glabrous above.
Type: India, Himachal Pradesh: near Yurpo, 3800 m, Jacquemont 1739. (P, holotype, not seen; G, K, isotypes),.
Distribution: Kashmir to Nepal at higher elevations; not common in the western Himalayan region.
