8b. Epilobium royleanum forma glabrum Raven, Bull. Brit. Mus. (Nat. Hist.) Bot. 2: 361. 1962; Stewart, Ann. Cat. Vasc. Pl. W. Pak. & Kashm. 507. 1972.
Peter C. Hoch and Peter H. Raven
Stem glabrous except for distinct strigillose lines decurrent from the margins of the petiole.
Type: Kashmir, Pahlgam (c. 34 02' N., 75 20' E.), 2450 m., 31.7.1945, R.R. Stewart 21523 (K, holotype).
Distribution: Kashmir.
The very different pattern of pubescence marks these populations as in need of careful study, if only because the dense all-around strigillose pubescence of typical E. royleanum so clearly distinguishes it from all other species. Fl. Per.: Jul-Aug.
