Stems and inflorescence covered with long glandular hairs.
Type: Baltistan: Hispar Glacier snout. 3200 m; growing by spring, damp ground; 21.8.1960. Polunin 6362 (BM, holotype; E, isotype).
Distribution: restricted to North Pakistan.
Differs from typical E. royleanum only by having long glandular hairs on the stem and inflorescence rather than strigillose hairs. Very restricted geographically, and much in need of more field study. Fl. Per.: Jul-Aug.
