16. Rumex paulsenianus x punjabensis
= R. munshii Rech. f., hybr. nov.
Panicula c. 60 cm, longa, laxa, iteratim patule ramosa, subaphylla. Folium caulinum unicum paniculum fulcrans, c. 50 cm longa, ampla, praeterea tantum folia tria anguste lanceolata, 20 x 50 x 5-10 mm longa. Panicula laxissima ampla; florum fasciculi, inferiores remoti, superiores ± contigui. Perigonii phylla exteriora. Perigonii phylla interiora, valde inaequaliter evoluti. Pedicelli tenuiter fliformwa, supra basin insensibiliter articulati, valde inaequales. Valvae maximae (optime evolutae) late cordato-triangulares, x ± 5-6 mm longae et latae, basi truncato-subcordatae, apice subacutae usque subrotundatae, margine ± minutissime denticulatae, faciebus tenuiter reticulatae, maculis nervatorae marginalibus valde elongatis, margo valverum basin versus indistincte minute denticulatus. Callus valvae anterioris anguste fusiformis, acutus. Nuces omnino immaturae.
Panicle c. 60 cm long, loose, repeatedly branching, nearly leafless. Stem leaf supporting the 50 cm long panicle; upper leaves narrow, 20-50 x 5-10 cm. Panicle loose, large; lower flower glomerules distant, upper ± contiguous. Inner perianth lobes irregularly developed. Pedicels filiform, indistinctly articulate, unequal. Largest valves ± 5-6 mm long and large, base subtruncate to cordate, apex subacute to subrotundate, margin ± indistinctly denticulate, finely reticulate with marginal mashes very elongate, margin of valves indistinctly finely denticulate. Anterior valves with an acute narrowly fusiform grain. Nut immature.
