Erect, branched from ± woody base, branches obliquely ascending, sparsely ± appressed hairy, regularly leafy below, upwardly becoming nude. Leaves below short to long-petioled, lamina elliptic to rotundate, 5 – 10 mm long, pinnatifid, into 2 – 4, remote, cylindric-linear, 2 – 3 x c. 0.5 mm, densely punctate glandular ultimate segments. Capitula solitary at apices of shoots, heterogamous, radiate. Involucre hemispherical, 3-seriate, c. 8 mm across, phyllaries pale-green, ± carinate, imbricate, outermost linear, 2 – 3 mm long, acute, middle lanceolate, narrowly light brown scarious on margins, innermost oblong, broadly brown-scarious at apices, ± dentate to lacerate, densely crisped puberulous on margins. Receptacle plane. Ray-florets female, sterile, with c. 8 x 2 – 3 mm long, apically denticulate white ligule. Disc-florets yellow, bisexual, with shortly 5-toothed, narrowly tubular, c. 3 mm long corolla. Cypselas c. 1.5 mm long, 5-ribbed. Pappus 0.4 – 0.5 mm long, apically lobulate.

Holotype: Chitral, Gambak top, 3000 – 3300 m, 28.7.1954, M. A. Siddiqui & A. Rahman 26833 (BM) Isotype (RAW).

Dry sandy-gravel places from 3000 to 4000 m; Distribution: Endemic to Pakistan (Chitral).
