Suffruticose, 10 – 15 cm tall with minute, sticky white indumentum on the stems. Leaves clustered towards the inflorescence, 1 – 1.5 (-2) cm long, pinnatisect, the segments linear, glabrescent or glabrous, the apex trifid. Capitula solitary, on very short peduncles. Phyllaries 4 – 5 mm long, with dark brown margins, apically often fringed. Receptacle convex. Ray-florets 7 – 10 mm long. Disc-florets yellow, with 3 – 5 mm long, 5-toothed corolla tube. Cypselas pale-brown, 1.5 – 2 (-3) mm long. Pappus obscurely dentate, less than 1 mm long.
Holotype: Kashmir, 1833, Royle s. n. (G, IDC microfische 176!) Isotype (K!).
Distribution: Endemic to Kashmir.
