    Leaves 2-3, linear to linear-lanceolate, ± plicate. Scape with 2-3 tubular sheaths. Inflorescence rather short, dense. Flowers small, whitish to greenish-brownish. Bracts lanceolate, half to equalling the length of ovary. Dorsal sepal 6-7 mm long, lanceolate, concave; lateral sepals somewhat shorter but broader than the dorsal, falcately oblong-lanceolate; petals falcately lanceolate. ± 5 mm long. Labellum white with some purple spots, 3-lobed, with a short slightly saccate claw, at base with a prominent, fleshy callus; side-lobes linear, obtuse, 1-nerved, 2-2.5 mm long, almost free to the base, mid-lobe oblong, basal half with ciliolate margins, widened in apical half, apex truncate, shallowly emarginate, with erose-undulate margins. Column c. 4mm.

    Type: Kumaon, Yaklul mountains, Thomas Thomson 214 (BSI, no. 9885).

    Distribution: From Kashmir to Bhutan, Assam, Tibet, W. China, from 2100-3300 m.

    R. R. Stewart cites this plant, which has a wide range of distribution in the Himalaya, in his catalogue (p. 73, 1972) under Oreorchis foliosa (Lindl.) Lindl.
