Differs from Valeriana hardwickii var. hardwickii in the slender and more or less glabrous stem and fruit, and smaller leaves.
Type: Described from the Himalayas.
This variety has been reported from Chitral by Duthie (see Duthie List, Ham. and Younghusband) and collected in Astor, Gilgit (Duthie 12266) as well. Found from 3200-3800 m.
