A large shrub. Leaflets (2)-3 pairs, 2.5-4.3 cm long, oblong or oblong-lanceolate, with stipitate glands between the lowest or all the pairs of leaflets. Flowers about 2.5 cm across, pale yellow in axillary corymbose racemes in the upper leaf axils. Stamens 10, the three upper reduced to staminodes. Pods 7.5-10 cm long, 7.5 mm broad, straw-coloured, straight, seeds embedded in dark-brown viscid pulp.
Distribution: Indigenous to extratropical S. America; cultivated in Lahore.
