Berberis usteriana (Schneid.) Parker
Differs from the type variety by its always glabrous stems and shoots, slightly smaller leaves with 1-2 marginal spinules, slightly smaller flowers with petals only c. 5 mm long. Berries oblong-obovoid, 9-12 mm long, 6-7 mm broad, red, epruinose.
Type: W. Himalaya, Kumaon, Chaleb, Byans, Duthie 5307 (K).
Distribution: Kashmir, W. Himalaya to Nepal.
