Similar to Impatiens glandulifera Royle, but differing in the crenate to subcrenate leaves and narrower and longer fruits (up to 30 mm long).

Type: Nepal, Wallich (K).
Distribution: The temperate Himalayas from 2000-3900 m.
Some specimens with smaller size and conical lower sepal have been designated as var. minor Hook. f. (l.c. 469). They hardly differ from the typical plant other-wise.
