Twining tomentose shurb, juice milky, woody branches with raised lenticels. Leaves 7.5-13.0 x 3.8-8.0 cm, ovate, base cordate, undulate margin, tip acuminate, pubescent on both the sides; petiole 3.8-5.0 cm. Flowers in axillary or interpetiolar compound cymes, peduncle c. 2.5 cm long, tomentose. Pedicels 25-5.0 mm long. Calyx c. 2.5 mm long, tomentose, lobes ovate or lanceolate. Corolla yellowish green to orange, 5.6 mm long, campanulate, divided more than half way down, lobes pubescent outside, villous within. Staminal column short. Stigma convex. Follicles 7.5 x 2.5 cm, solitary, straight, beaked, rugose, hairy. Seeds 0.6-13 cm long, brown, narrowly winged, coma 2.5 cm long.

Distribution: Himalaya, from Indus eastwards to Sikkim, 3000-7000 ft.
