    Perennial herbs with thick tap root. Rosulate leaves, spathulate, oblanceolate, with rounded apex, attenuate at the base, entire, densely glandular hairy, 10-32 x 4-8 mm, broadest near apex. Flowering stems 6-20 cm long, glandular hairy, deciduous. Cauline leaves spathulate, oblong, round at the apex, densely glandular hairy, 5-20 x 2-4 mm. Inflorescence terminal, many flowered, lax thyrse. Flowers 5-merous, small, campanulate, pedicel 2-12 mm long. Calyx 5-lobed, lobes ovate, green, fleshy, densely glandular hairy, 2.5-6.5 x 1.2-3.6 mm. Corolla 5-lobed, lobes elliptic, acuminate, entire, connate, pink, hairy, 5-7.8 x 1.5-3 mm. Stamens 10, in two whorls, shorter than and adnate to the petals, 2.8-5 mm long. Nectar scales oblong, round at the apex, 0.5-1.5 x 0.2-0.4 mm. Carpels free, 3-6 x 0.5-1.5 mm, style slender 0.8-1.2 mm long, stigma capitate. Follicles 5, erect, free, 4.5-6 x 0.8-1.5 mm. Seeds ellipsoid, 0.5-0.8 x 0.1-0.3 mm.

    An Irano-Turanian element, grows between 1500-2800 m; Distribution: Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Tajikistan.
