Pluchea arguta subsp. glabra Qaiser in Pak. J. Bot. 34: 369. 2002. (Fig. 26, G-I).

Branches and leaves glabrous. Capitula, 4-7 mm in diameter.

Fl.Per.: All the year round.

Holotype: Pakistan, Salt Range hills, between village Katha and Pail on Khushab, Chakwal Road, A. Ghafoor & Tahir Ali 3737 (KUH!).

P. arguta subsp. glabra seems to have more wide distribution than the type subspecies. The type subspecies seems to be localized in Sindh and Baluchistan and does not reach to Punjab (Pakistan) and Northwest Frontier Province whereas subsp. glabra is distributed throughout Pakistan; Distribution: Pakistan, Iran and India.

The type subspecies differs from subsp. glabra by having densely pubescent branches and leaves. The leaves are somewhat less dentate and the capitula are somewhat larger, 8-12 mm in diameter than the subsp. glabra. However, as far as the leaf dentation and the size of capitula are concerned, few intermediates are also met with but the character of pubescence seems to be fairly constant.
