Acacia seyal var. seyal
A flat or umbrella shaped tree. Young branchlets almost glabrous and with numerous reddish sessile glands. Spine c. 6-8 cm long on older twigs, younger spines comparatively short and recurved. Ant galls sometimes present but spines (or galls) not fused together and not bilobed. Pinnae 3-12 pairs, leaflets 8-25 pairs, 3-8 mm long. Heads fragrant, usually appearing before the leaves. Pod flat, 7.5-22 cm long, c. 5-9 mm broad, slightly constricted between seeds.
Type: Egypt, Delile (MPU,? holo.).
Distribution: Native of northern trop. Africa, introduced in D.I. Khan.
