Plant 24-30 cm tall, ± suffruticose. Leaves ± scabrid, elliptic, lanceolate or linear, base attenuate, upper leaves usually rounded at the base, 6-77 mm long, 1-13 mm broad. Cymes lax, sessile or subsessile. Pedicel 0.5-3 mm. Hypanthium ± quadrangular. Epicalyx folds up to half as long as calyx or obscure. Sepals ± scabrid, very acute. Petals absent. Style c. 0-0.25 mm. Capsule included within the hypanthium, 0.5(-1) mm in diameter.

Type: Described from Italy.
Distribution: South-West Asia, South-East Russia.
In moist places. Apparently restricted to Sind. Not common.
