Twining perennial or (under cultivation) annual herb. Leaf stipulate, stipules ovate, 4-6 mm long; petiole 1-18 cm long, rhachis 0.7-4.5 cm long. Leaflets petiolulate 2.5-15 cm long, 1.5-14.0 cm wide, acuminate, glabrous or pubescent. Inflorescence axillary, peduncle 2-40 cm long, rhachis 4-20 mm long. Flowers pedicellate, pedicel 2-3.5 mm long; bracts 4 mm long, deciduous; bracteoles 4-6 mm long, 1-4.5 mm broad. Calyx tube 3-4 mm long, lower lobe 2-4 mm long, the upper pair joined to form an entire or emarginate lip. Vexillum oblate or round, 1.2-1.5 cm long, 1.2-1.5 cm broad, glabrous. Pods up to 10 cm long, up to 4 cm broad, 2-5-seeded. Seeds white, red or black, oblong, compressed 0.4-1.7 cm long, c. 3-5.5 mm thick. 
 
 
Type: Presently untraceable.
