Lotus compactus Chrtkova-Zertova
Prostrate herb, almost radially branched. Branches scantily pubescent, hairs spreading. Leaf trifoliolate, rachis 1-5 mm long. Leaflets up to 10 mm long, up to 5 mm broad, obovate, obtuse to truncate, glabrous above, scantily hairy below; stipules foliaceous, generally smaller than the leaflets. Flowers 1-4, sessile to subsessile in the leaf axils. Calyx 3-4 mm long, pubescent, teeth subequal, c. 1.5 mm long. Vexillum c. 4-4.5 mm long. Fruit 9-12 mm long, c. 2 mm broad, glabrous, 8-12-seeded; valves persistent, curling spirally after dehiscence.
