    Tree. Leaves with 8-9 cm long tomentose petiole; lamina 3-5-lobed, c. 10 cm long, c. 15 cm broad, stellately pubescent on both sides. Flowers paniculate, appearing before the leaves; pedicel 3-6 mm long, velvety. Calyx pale yellow, 1.5-2 cm long, lobed above the middle, densely glandular hairy outside, glabrous, nerved and with a brown coloured minute membrane adnate to the base within. Staminal column 1-2cm long, recurved, anthers 10, c. 2 mm long. Follicles 5, free, elliptic-ovate, 7-9 cm long, 2.5-3 cm broad, glabrous, stipe c. 5-10 mm long. Seed solitary in each follicle, oblong, 1-1.3 cm long, 6-8 mm broad.

    Distribution: Indigenous east of Jumna; cultivated in Pakistan and elsewhere.

    It is planted in Gardens for shade.
